Multiply the Band D rate of your local authority by 6/9. For example, if your LA's Band D is £2,400, your Band A bill is £1,600 before discounts. Single-person discount removes 25%; full-time student households can pay £0.

Wales and Scotland

Wales uses 2003 value bands and adds Band I above Band H19. Scotland uses 1991 values with the same A–H scale; two high-value bands, I and J, are proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation28.
